“TRADITIONAL FAIR 2017 – THE COLOR OF TIME”

On the 87^th anniversary of Vietnam Woman’s Union establishment
(October 20^th, 1930 – October 20^th, 2017) and to celebrate the Vietnamese Woman’s Day on October 20^th, 2017, Cam Ranh International Airport Services Joint Stock Company (CIAS) and Aviation Ground Services Company Limited (AGS) had together held the event “Traditional Fair 2017 – The Color Of Time” on October 18^th, 2017.  This is the first time for such an activity to be held at Cam Ranh International Airport and the “Traditional Fair 2017” succefully brought in new meaningful experience to the site.

With the theme “The Color Of Time”, the event had recreated the environment of a traditional fair in rural areas of Vietnam, where the beauty of Vietnamese women is honored in traditional costumes such as “áo bà ba” (a traditional outfit, often made from silk) and “áo tứ thân” (four-piece costume, another traditional outfit) along with delicious Vietnamese traditional cuisine. However, unlike any other traditional fair, a variety of dishes from North, Middle and South Regions of Vietnam had been brought together artfully and enjoyably.

Eight food-booths were constructed and decorated manually by the employees of the two company AGS and CIAS themselves. These food-booths were made from traditional materials like straw and bamboo, which are very popular in rural areas of Vietnam, but not so much in the big cities. Each of them boated a unique combination of yummy dishes that distinguished each one from the other but together, they succefully recreated a delighful and colorful slice of life in the rural areas of Vietnam.

Coming to the fair, customers and guests had the chance to taste all kind of delicious food of Vietnam, including noodle and tofu with shrimp sauce, sliced pork in special spice (nem chao), stewed pork with galingale (gia cay) of the North; Mong Bridge grilled veal, minced beef sausage, … of the Middle; or grilled mullet fish, special pancake of the South. In addition to that, there were also dishes that are the quintessence of Khanh Hoa cuisine like Ninh Hoa grilled pork roll, Can cake (banh can) and grilled seafood.

 The “Traditional Fair 2017” was also an opportunity for the organizations, companies and airlines operating at Cam Ranh International Airport to gather, get to know each other better and to tighten their relationship. Interestingly, foreign tourists who passed by, were also attracted by the fair and decided to try Vietnamese dishes right on site.
